Southeast Healthcare Tuscarawas County Ohio Substance Use Treatment

Southeast Healthcare Tuscarawas County Ohio Substance Use Treatment. Southeast offers outpatient treatment for substance use disorders and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid dependence, structured through an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Southeast uses the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to establish the level of care appropriate to meet the needs of the patient. The MAT program combines pharmacological medications Buprenorphine (Suboxone or Subutex), which is an opioid agonist/antagonist that blocks other narcotics while reducing withdrawal risk, or Naltrexone (Vivitrol) a non-addictive opioid antagonist that blocks the effects of other narcotics; with counseling and behavioral therapies to provide a “whole patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Our Chaplain is available and meets with clients to assist with spiritual counseling and guidance if needed. Due to the need for medication administered in MAT, our Chaplain runs groups to help those who want support, but don’t feel welcome at AA or NA.
