OhioMHAS strives to end suffering from mental illness, substance use disorders, and problem gambling for Ohioans of all ages, their families, and communities. OhioMHAS strives to demonstrate our core values in our relationships with our constituents across the state, with our state sister agencies, and within our own department.
Recovery Ohio
Recovery Ohio. RecoveryOhio’s goals are to create a system to help make treatment available to Ohioans in need, provide support services for those in recovery and their families, offer direction for the state’s prevention and education efforts, and work with local law enforcement to provide resources to fight illicit drugs at the source. To provide help from all perspectives, RecoveryOhio is composed of an internal state team with representation from several state departments, boards, and commissions. For additional advice and consultation on the best ways to improve our state’s response to this crisis, the RecoveryOhio State Team turns to an external group, the RecoveryOhio Advisory Council, who are Governor-appointed experts from both the public and private sectors with experience in the fields of treatment, prevention, recovery support, and criminal justice.

Ohio Citizen Advocates for Addiction Recovery is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating social change in Ohio. As the only peer run advocacy organization in the state of Ohio, our staff, Board, and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure the rights of individuals in recovery. It is our job to speak out against the stigma and discrimination associated with addiction, but we can only be as loud as the number of champions behind us. To advocate for those in and seeking recovery from a substance use disorder to ensure political, social, educational, and economic equality.
NAMI Ohio National Alliance On Mental Illness OH
NAMI Ohio National Alliance On Mental Illness OH. NAMI Ohio (National Alliance on Mental Illness of Ohio) was created in 1982 by a small, dedicated group of family members to provide mutual support, education, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by serious brain disorders. Over the years, our membership has expanded to include family members, mental health consumers and providers, community mental health boards, mental health organizations and other supporters.
Alcoholics Anonymous in Ohio
Alcoholics Anonymous in Ohio. The Ohio State Convention of Alcoholics Anonymous is an open, annual service convention hosted on a rotating schedule by one of the four Ohio General Service Areas comprised of Area 53 – Central & Southeast OH; Area 54 – Northeast OH; Area 55 – Northwest OH; and Area 56 – Southwest OH. The purpose of the convention is to carry the spirit of the General Service Conference to individual A.A. members of the districts and groups in Ohio. This is accomplished by fostering cooperation among the four Ohio Areas, highlighting and celebrating the General Service Activities of Alcoholics Anonymous in these areas and through sharing experience on AA’s legacies of unity, service and recovery.
Ohio NARCO
Ohio NARCO. Ohio NARCO is a not for profit Law Enforcement Association serving Ohio’s Law Enforcement community, with over three-hundred members. NARCO strives to provide a forum for the exchange of information and the development of investigative collaborations as well as providing high quality, low cost training. NARCO also engages in strategic partnerships with other Law Enforcement Associations and Police Agencies with a goal of enhancing Ohio’s Police Officers ability to enforce State and Federal controlled substance statutes, and to positively influence our nations war on drugs.

Ohio Start Program. We approach Substance Use Disorders with compassion, understanding and hope for recovery. We work as a team, supporting and holding each other accountable. We believe in family, love and redemption. This project creates an opportunity for a new best practice model designed to lead to better outcomes for children and families impacted by opiates and other drugs. The overall goal of this model is to stabilize families harmed by parental drug use so that both children and their parents can recover and move forward with abuse-free and addiction-free lives. Ohio START integrates community partners to ensure the seamless provision of wraparound services.
